Vehicle Type Approval

Vehicle type approval or VTA is a document that certifies the compliance of wheeled vehicles imported into the countries of the Customs Union (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan) with the safety and environmental standards applicable in them.

VTA is required to receive for the following categories of vehicles:

L: Mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles, ATVs.
M: buses, trolleybuses, passenger cars.
N: Special equipment and trucks.
A: trailers of all types and semi-trailers.

VTA for serial production of automotive equipment is issued for a period of one or three years. The document comes into force after registration in the Unified Register of the Customs Union.
